St. Patricks Day @ the zoo

On St Patricks day we decided to go down to the zoo after having an amazing breakfast at Snooze. If you are ever in the Denver area you have to go. My cousin Tanner was in town with his girlfriend Hilary so we all headed downtown to check out the animals. It was Brookly's third time but the first time she awake long enough to see the animals. We love the Denver Zoo and its 70 degree weather in March!

California Weekend

Last weekend Brooklyn and I flew out to California with my mom for my best friend's wedding. It was so much fun to get away for a little girls weekend. We stayed in Newport Beach, went on lots of walks, shopped, and ate lots of good food. We got to spend lots of time with my grandma as well, who happens to be Brooklyn's new best friend. She loves her just as much as I do. The weather was perfect and it made me miss living in California. That is until I got on the freeway and turned into a road raged monster. The traffic there would be the death of me. I got so angry I contemplated chancing the 400 dollar ticket for driving in the car pool lane with only 1 person.

The wedding was absolutely beautiful. It was on the beach with only her closest family and friends. She was stunning and I have never seen her happier in the 20 + years I have known her. This day was a long time (8 years of dating) coming and it couldn't have been more perfect. I am so happy for you Linds, now move to Colorado!!

Now, if only Brooklyn could rack up some frequent flyer miles for us!

Pura Vida

We just got back from a Kozak family vacation in Costa Rica. Take me back! It was a blast. We rented a house by the beach and relaxed for a week. Brooklyn was an angel the whole trip and didn't make a peep on the 6 hour flight. I think we have a beach girl on our hands. We ate, swam, and surfed every day. It's amazing how happy sunshine can make you. Ocean views help too. We zip lined one day and the boys went on an ATV tour to some rock/cliff/island to go rock climbing. The town of Tamarindo itself is wonderful. We had so much exploring it every night. We are back to real life, obnoxious amounts of laundry, and much colder temperatures!

It was like a traveling circus with all of us

Brooklyn @ 6 months

Our little girl is growing up faster than we can keep up with. Every day she is doing something new and we try and enjoy it for as long as we can until she is onto her next new move. She has mastered clapping and the wave and we cannot get enough of it. Trevor said she probably feels like a show horse. Basically, we are head over heels for this little one and are loving every minute we have with her. She is almost crawling and gets on all fours and looks at us like "now what do I do?" It is too cute. She is happy as can be. We spend most mornings rolling around and laughing in bed and most nights on the floor in her room practicing our crawling. Bottom line: life is great. We are so blessed to have this little bundle of joy rolling around our house and can't imagine life without her.

Here are her 6 month pictures I had taken. How on earth is she already 6 months old? I tried everything, but she still grew up. Thanks to Julie for letting me use her house for the photos!

Brooklyn goes to the mountains...

We went up to the mountains last weekend for a little getaway. It was so nice to relax and do a whole lot of nothing. We got to let B play in the snow for the first time and she loved it (most of the time). We took long walks and went into Breckenridge. We love Colorado and we love the mountains. We couldn't love our little snow bunny more.

Brooklyn goes to the E.R.

Having a sick baby is the WORST. It is the saddest thing in the world. The stupid cold that has been going around got me and my little one. If only I could teach her tiny little self to blow her nose, it wouldn't have been so bad. I tried everything: make shift steam rooms in her bathroom, sucking her nose out, elevating her crib, humidifier. You name it, I tried it. We put her to bed one night and she woke up around 4 (which is way out of her norm) so I went in, fed her, noticed she was a little stuffy, suctioned her nose, and then put her back down as usual. We heard her coughing and ran in to bring her into our room. She was so tired and trying so hard to fall asleep on my chest but just couldn't due to her cough. She started coughing so hard she threw up. That's when we both looked at each other and said "We are going to E.R." On the way there she was so congested, the only way she could breathe was by coughing and she coughed the entire way there. With both of us nearly in tears (well maybe completely in tears) we rushed her in and they used a machine to suction her nose out while she screamed and looked at us for help. It was traumatizing. Seeing my little girl helpless and so sick broke my heart. Luckily, it wasn't RSV and they were able to suck it all out before it got to her lungs. She is finally better, and now getting a tooth. The poor girl can't win. Before the traumatic suction experience she was happy and adorable at the ER trying to breath. We could not have a sweeter little girl.

Finally feeling better and so happy about it!
