Peach Picking in Palisade
My family was going up to the mountains for a week in August. My mom and I decided to go up a few days early. I have always loved peaches, and in my opinion, the best peaches are from Colorado. Palisade was about a 1.5 hour drive from our house so I talked my mom into going with me. We found an orchard that the sweetest old guy owned and he let us go pick them ourselves. They were delicious and I now want a peach orchard. It was funny because everyone from up there thought we were crazy for wanting to pick them. They have done it their whole lives and dread it!
Brooklyn @ 26 Months
I know I need to post about her 2nd birthday and our whole summer but I need to write down all that she is up to so I never forget. She keeps us laughing all day long and we can't get enough of that belly laugh.
- She is still OBSESSED with her husky dog my dad bought her last Christmas. It goes everywhere with us and never leaves her side. Im talking, she can't go from the kitchen to the bathroom without it. Yes, it watches her go potty.
- She is day and night potty trained and oh what a life changer that is. She still has an accident maybe once a month when she sleeps too long but we can't complain. Most mornings I wake her up and she is holding her crotch saying "Potty Mom!!!"
- She loves all of the most annoying shows on television, Dora, Bubble Guppies, Spongebob Squarepants. She loves to have "milk and showy" which means she wants to sit on the couch with her milk and watch a show. Most time it requires her favorite blanket as well. She can sing the Dora song pretty well and it's the cutest thing.
- She is sleeping in her big girl bed and after a few rough nights, she is back to normal. It was the hardest thing taking her out of her crib because it solidified the fact that she is no longer a baby! She asks me every night "Mom come in my girl (big girl) bed!"
- She doesn't want to be read to, she wants to read a book and have you read a different one right next to her. She says "no you read that one, I read this one.." "once upon a time..."
- She has to do everything herself. Socks, shoes, potty, eating, which means getting out the door takes quite some time some days.
- She started ballet class and is such a crack up. The husky goes to ballet with us. She is the youngest in the class and some days is just wandering around the room in her own world but then we come home and she repeats what she learns so she is learning something!
- She can now sing Twinkle Twinkle, Old McDonald, Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam, and Wheels on the Bus. We sing all of them about 50 times a day.
- She is still pretty shy and doesn't like new people. We are working on that.
- When she doesn't like what you are telling her she says "NO ASK ME THAT!"
- Sometimes you really can't get a word in, she just keeps jabbering and all I can do is laugh.
- She loves church and nursery. She longs for it all week long.
- She repeats everything, which is not always a good thing...

Lake Powell 2013
I was a little hesitant to go to Lake Powell with a little one. The water makes me super nervous and I REALLY didn't want to go pregnant but it always ends up being a blast. Brooklyn LOVED it. She played from sun up til sun down and she napped like it was her job. There are few places as fun as Lake Powell. Seeing Brooklyn experience it and love every second of it made all the hassle and stress totally worth it :)
Brooklyn's 2nd Birthday Party
Brooklyn turned 2! We had such a fun "circus" themed party since she loves animals so much. Trevor went to a ton of work to make fun carnival games, my mom and I slaved over the food, and there was lots of treats. It was a blast. All of her friends came and right when the party started, it down poured. We had to move the party inside but it was still a blast. We had corn dogs and french fries, popcorn, cake pops, a cake, fruit, etc. My mom and brother made the best corn dogs. We had a cotton candy machine and a snow cone machine too thank to some of our friends! Brooklyn was on a sugar high but had so much fun with her friends.
