All Dogs Go To Heaven

Last week we had to say goodbye to our sweet Maddie. It was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I didn't anticipate it being that hard and was not prepared. Luckily she let us know she was ready and it was a relief to know she was no longer suffering and in pain. She was the best buddy to have for those 14 years and I am so grateful we got to have her for that long. We couldn't have asked for a sweeter dog and she definitely made every day better. If Brooklyn was ever crying, Maddie would always rush to her side and lay next to her crib no matter what time of day it was. I miss her every day. We love you and miss you, Maddo. I took a few pictures of Brooklyn with her and I am so glad I have these, even if they make me cry every time I see them.

Brooklyn's First Nuggets Game

A couple of weeks ago we took Brooklyn to her first Nuggets game. She LOVED it. She is quite the active, mobile thing lately and I haven't seen her sit still like that for months. She was mesmerized by it all. Rocky was going through the stands and asked to hold Brooklyn so Trevor decided to let her crowd surf to get to him. A mother's worst nightmare. She was terrified of Rocky but the picture was priceless.

Brooklyn's First Easter

It's always more fun to have a little one around for the holidays. Although Brooklyn couldn't have cared less about the clothes and books she got, she sure loved the eggs. We couldn't get a picture without her smiling and shaking them. It was lots of fun putting it all together and getting her Easter outfit (thanks mom!). We got to spend the morning with our families and the evening with our friends. It was such a great Easter. As much fun as the candy, food, eggs, and bunnies are, Easter is really about remembering our Savior. I am so grateful.

Spring Break in AZ

We went to Arizona for our annual Tripp family spring break. We love getting away to the sun and spending time with family. We were super excited that Tausha and Jacob got to join us this year. We spent lots of time floating the lazy river (Brooklyn's favorite), went shopping and out to dinner, went to the Rockies spring training, ate lots of shaved ice, and got to see some of our best friends, the Johansens. Cooper is the cutest little boy and we can only hope he and Brooklyn get married someday. If not, she can marry baby boy #2 who is on his way. We wish we lived closer to them. We had a blast, mom and dad Tripp sure do spoil us while we are there and we are so grateful. Brooklyn traveled like a champ, and we are more than ready to be home for longer than 2 weeks. Brooklyn and I both slept in until 8:45 this morning. It was much needed. She was so excited to see her bed, she started clapping and kicking her legs. I couldn't agree more.
