July 4th 2013

The 4th of July is one of our favorite holidays. Nothing beats the 4th in Provo, but we always try to make the most of it here in Denver. The night before, we went to the Rockies game for the 4th year in a row and got to go down on the field to watch the fireworks show. Brooklyn loved running around down there but was a little uneasy about the loud noises. As soon as I got my funnel cake, I was a happy camper. That morning we headed down to the Highlands Ranch parade, went and played some volleyball in Wash Park, headed to our favorite twin boys' birthday party, and then to the pool and Red Robin. It was great day in our book. We are so grateful for all of the men and women who sacrifice so much for our freedoms. God Bless America!

Newport Beach 2013

Last month we headed to Newport Beach with some of our friends for a little vacation. It was such a blast and we are already wishing we were back at the beach. We did lots of swimming, ate In n Out more times than we are proud of, played in the sand, and ate some more. Between 8 adults, and 9 kids we were quite the traveling circus but we wouldn't have it any other way.

Girls (Road) Trip

My cousin and I decided we wanted to have a sewing week and get all the girls in the family together to get a bunch of projects done. Me, being the avid sewer that I am (ha), decided it would be fun to go and attempt some projects. My mom and I made the 8 hour trek with Brooklyn. She was such a champ. She basically didn't make a peep for the whole drive except to giggle or ask for some more Goldfish. I absolutely love going to Logan in the Spring time. It was SO green and lush and just plain gorgeous. My uncle trains rain horses so his backyard (of 10 acres) was heaven for a little almost two year old with a love for all things "neigh". There were also dogs, and cats, and older cousins to play with. She wanted to be outside all day long and constantly asked "outside, please?" I even bought some fabric to make a quilt and got started on it, but haven't touched it since, and frankly I am not quite sure where the fabric even is. We had so much fun playing with family and hanging out in the wide open spaces for a few days. She was just as much of an angel on the way home, and we were all so grateful for that!

Easter 2013

Brooklyn is about to turn 2 and I decided I needed to get my butt in gear and get caught up on the blog. Mom fail.

Easter was great this year. It's crazy how much she has grown since last year. She loved opening the eggs, playing with her presents, and eating lots of Candy. I got her mostly books this year and for the next month we read the same books over and over and over again. We spent the day with family and friends and feel so blessed to have them in our lives. The day before, my friend Kendria threw an adorable Easter Egg Hunt at her house. Seeing Brooklyn run around with all her friends is the cutest.
