Brooklyn @ 16 Months

It is crazy how fast life flies by when you have a little one. I always thought people were crazy when they said their child's age in months, until I had one of my own. I want to hold on to her little-ness for as long as possible! And every month seems like some huge milestone that needs to be recognized, ha!

Brooklyn is active, to put it lightly. I mean the girl doesn't stop ALL DAY LONG. And I'm not exaggerating, not even a little bit. She will bring me a book, be done in 30 seconds, point to the snack she wants, then go change the channel, then go jump on the bed, then grab her toy, climb on her chair, pull all her stuffed animals out, raid the bathroom, and try to jump in the empty tub. And she will have only been awake for 20 minutes. It's seriously insane. Trev and I often look at each other and think how on earth is she still going? She is still a fabulous sleeper, and we thank our lucky stars for that every night.

-she is talking up a storm. She is probably so sick of me asking her what every animal says. "Mom I said neigh 30 seconds ago, lay off."
-climbs on everything. There isn't a chair too high for this little girl to scale. Her father's daughter? I say yes.
-loves the Lion King. I mean she could be running all over the place and as soon as she hears it, she is like a deer in the headlights. She will giggle to herself during the whole movie. I wonder if she really understands what is going on.
-Tupperware, and more Tupperware. all day long. She frequently wears every bowl in the house as a hat and walks around laughing at herself.
-loves dogs. She isn't afraid of anything, which worries me a little too much.
-she can now "pound" and gives everyone a "boom". It's a serious sign of endearment from her.
-She says "no" way too often and way too well. And the odd thing is she knows when to say it, we can't trick her.
-hates all vegetables. She would rather starve then eat a pea. Luckily, she could eat strawberries all day long.
-loves the park. LOVES. She is always so excited to go and goes down any slide, without hesitation.
-she knows when she has something she shouldn't because I'll catch her in the act and she will quickly throw it across the room and look at me like she doesn't have anything. Teenage years are going to be so much fun.
-loves anything that makes noise. she often says "whoaaaaaa" when something excites her.
-she has serious stranger danger, which I am thankful for these days.
-she insists of flipping every light switch in the house, every time we pass one.
-she loves to cuddle before bed and right when she wakes up.
-has an obsession with the dishwasher. I can't do dishes while she is awake or the entire kitchen is a disaster.
-loves to put her shoes on, and loves to take them off as soon as we get in the car. socks, too. It's not annoying at all.
-she loves stuffed animals and loves giving them "loves". She is one sweet girl.

She is our everything and we could not love her more. Every day brings on a new adventure and seeing that little mind of hers at work is such a incredible thing to see as a parent. It's funny how you are so excited to put them to bed but so excited to get them up in the morning. She has us wrapped around that tiny little finger of hers.

Halloween

I think I had about 15 different ideas for what Brooklyn was going to be for Halloween. I finally decided to maker her Snoopy, Trevor would be Charlie Brown, and I would be Lucy. I had a beanie made to look like Snoopy and then put together the rest. Brooklyn has the talent for pulling anything and everything off of her head. So, the odds of her keeping the beanie on were slim to none. Lucky for us, the allure of candy at every door distracted her and she kept it on, for the most part. She had a BLAST. I really didn't know what she was going to think of the whole thing, but she caught on pretty quickly. After she got candy she would say thank you and then say "Ba Bye". It was one of the cutest things I've ever seen. We stopped by both Grandparents houses, and then to the annual Halloween Party at Julie's, which was fabulous as usual. This little girl just keeps getting more and more fun and we can't get enough of her.

Liza was the cutest Tinkerbell around
These 3 girls have way too much fun together. Liza made sure they each got candy at every door.

And this describes these girls perfectly.
