Easter 2013

Brooklyn is about to turn 2 and I decided I needed to get my butt in gear and get caught up on the blog. Mom fail.

Easter was great this year. It's crazy how much she has grown since last year. She loved opening the eggs, playing with her presents, and eating lots of Candy. I got her mostly books this year and for the next month we read the same books over and over and over again. We spent the day with family and friends and feel so blessed to have them in our lives. The day before, my friend Kendria threw an adorable Easter Egg Hunt at her house. Seeing Brooklyn run around with all her friends is the cutest.

What our favorite little girl is up to lately...

Is Brooklyn really going to be 2 years old in 3 months? It's nuts. NUTS! These past 21 months have been the best of our lives and I can't imagine life without her. It's nuts how we both thought we would have a boy and when we found out we were having a girl we were so surprised. Now, I thank my lucky stars every day that we got this little angel sent to our family. It's indescribable how much you love your little ones, I don't even know how to explain it. It's a completely consuming love that I never thought was possible. She is our little diva that makes us laugh so much she probably doesn't get punished enough :) I can't imagine life without her.

Lately...

- When she doesn't want to leave or stop what she is doing when I ask, she will wave and say "bye mom" (I am totally guilty for this one, I would tell her "bye" to try and get her to come and it TOTALLY back fired.)
- Has to have her dogs with her at all times. The other night she would not go to bed, which was odd cuz she normally jumps out of my arms to go to bed. I was wondering what was going on when the light bulb went on "she doesn't have dog!". I brought her dog, she giggled, gave him "loves", and she was asleep seconds later.
- Shoes, shoes, shoes. She is generally running around in a diaper with just her boots on. Snow boots. Occassionally she adds sunglasses to the mix. She walked downstairs like that the other day and I about died.
- She gets down to her birthday suit after we put her to bed. It is a weekly occurance to go wake her up and find her in just her diaper with her clothes on the floor.
- She eats eggs every morning. If I'm still tired and want her to watch TV in bed with us a few minutes, she will look at me and say "Mom, I want eggs!" The girl knows what she wants.
- She is done with high chairs. She kneels down on the chair and eats her food like a big girl.
- Loves to play in the car. While we were moving she would sit in the car and play for as long as we needed her to. She climbs from the front to the back, gets in her carseat, hits a few buttons, and then does it all over again.
- She loves her Papas. Every time the door bell rings she yells "papa!"
- She loves to read and could do it all day long. Some days I'm certain we read close to 30 books. I love that she enjoys it so much.
- When she wants you to come with her she pats you on the leg and says "hand" and then leads you to what she wants.
- She will wrap her arms around your neck and say "awww". It is the single greatest thing. Ever.

Brooklyn, you are such a ham, and we couldn't love it more.

Spring Break in AZ

It has been snowing a lot lately, which isn't really our cup of tea after February. We decided to head to Arizona to get some sunshine, good food, and shopping. Trevor's mom rented a house for the month of March so we popped on down for a quick weekend before we moved in (more on that later). The weather was beautiful, half of the time. The other half was nuts. Uprooted trees, rain storms, and some seriously could weather. We still love you, Arizona. Luckily there were patches of decent weather when we snuck down to the park and went "wee" about a million times. She always says "one" after every time, meaning one more. That little girl of ours lives for being outside, rain or shine. The other two days were gorgeous days spent by the pool. We got to see some of our best friends while we were down there, and it was the highlight of our trip. I love friendships where you pick right up where you left off like it hasn't been a year since you last saw each other. We also ate a lot of good Mexican food. Brooklyn left "dog" at a restaurant the first night so we were FORCED to go back and eat there again. B did us a huge favor leaving dog there. We came back and got slapped in the face by reality and started packing so we could move a week later! And it's snowing again, come on Colorado, warm up a little bit for us!

 Snack break.

I could just eat those cute legs!
She is our travel queen. She didn't make a peep, got her drink, and watched a "show".

Brooklyn has two very good looking choices for her arranged marriage.

She was always playing in the center on the court.

Favorite Things Party

So... I'm a little (a lot) behind on this whole blogging thing recently. Life has just been nuts and I feel like I'm barely staying above water. We are moving in two weeks and the excitement is mostly outweighing the stress I should be feeling. Anyways, back in December my good friend Kendria and I decided to throw a "My Favorite Things Party". She happens to be insanely talented at party throwing. It was so much fun planning and executing the party. I always love a good get together, especially one where I go home with a Volcano candle from Anthro!

Christmas Card Photo Shoot

Before Christmas, my mom had some pictures taken of the girls for her Christmas card. They turned out amazing and we couldn't love this little girl more.

Dog Sledding...

Over Christmas break we headed up to the mountains for a week. It's so magical up there during Christmas time, we just can't get enough of it. My parents took the whole family (minus pregnant Kristy and the two little girls) dog sledding and it was amazing. First, they are the sweetest dogs that could never get enough love. My dad was trying to figure out how to bring one home with us. Second, it amazes me how these dogs LOVE to run and literally can't sit still. When we got there and they told us we would be on the sled by ourselves I was a little worried, seeing as I have no experience as Iron Will.  It was easier to maneuver than I thought. It was such a cool experience and one we will never forget.
