Mt. Sherman- 14,046 feet

Last weekend Trevor and his friend Michael decided they wanted to hike Mt. Sherman- 14,046 feet. Friday night we went to Chipotle for dinner and then the boys packed their meals and headed out around 10 pm for the 2 hour drive to the trail head. They didn't get to bed until 2 am and woke up at 6 am to start their hike. It took 6 1/2 hours and they made it to the top to find 60 mph winds that about blew them over. While they were doing that Emi and I went to see a chick flick and ran lots of errands, a successful day in my book. They came home BURNT from the sun and the wind. Trevor is still in horrible pain because his lips are blistering and his face is as burned as I have ever seen it. He has quite the raccoon eyes going on right now. He claims he put sunscreen on but it wasn't a match for 14,000 feet. Beside the burn, he said it was an amazing climb and he loved the old mine shafts they got to explore on the way up. The trail was still snow covered so they were in snow shoes the whole time. Trevor lives for his weekends in the mountains! Another 14er checked off the list for Trevor. I love my mountain man!
