Warmer Weather

After Christmas, we headed to sunny Southern California to get some warmer weather and some much needed R&R. I always love going back to where I grew up, it will always be home to me. After what seemed like the travel day from hell, we finally got there. Brooklyn was a champ and went an entire day without napping (the first time in her whole 18 months of life). She was in heaven the entire week. She loved riding the beach cruisers from pier to pier, and would have never left the sand if we let her. She is her mother's daughter and I absolutely love her love for the ocean. We got to see great grandma and grandpa Kozak as well, which was so special for me. We spent lots of time shopping, eating, playing at the arcades, going on boat tours, whale watching, and watching Pitch Perfect. It was such a fun trip with Trevor's family and we are already missing the sun. Trevor mentions every day how he wishes we could be on beach cruisers right now. I second that.

Christmas Happenings

Christmas time is my favorite time of year and we have been making the most of it here in Denver. Here are some pictures of what we have been up to this Holiday season.

 Brooklyn "helped" decorate the tree

My chocolate chip cookies finally turned out. New ovens are always tricky.
We can't keep her away from the ornaments, I hear them bouncing off the tree all day long.
She clearly has her mothers taste. I couldn't get her out of Pottery Barn and I wasn't about to buy her the $150 sheep.
She does this new thing where she takes the stickers of EVERYTHING. She was going through the clearance isle and Sports Authority taking all the red stickers off. Whoops.
The Cherry Creek Santa display is gorgeous.

 Patiently waiting for Santa.
90 minutes and $30 later, we saw santa. They didn't allow me to take any on my phone. Kind of annoying considered I paid the money! For the record, she hated Santa with a passion.

Presents are wrapped and we are ready for Christmas!

Thanksgiving 2012

It's almost Christmas and I'm just getting around to blogging about Thanksgiving. Proof that I have an 18 month old that keeps me plenty busy. And the fact that blogger told me I couldn't upload any more photos...but now it's letting me? Not sure why, but I'll take it. Trying to figure out Flickr was becoming very time consuming. Thanksgiving was a blast this year. Brooklyn and I turkey trotted with Papa (B didn't do much trotting, but did a lot of sleeping), ate lots of good food (thanks to Lindsey for helping me make the rolls), went to the Nuggets game, and went to the lighting of Downtown Littleton...kinda. We got there at 5, exactly when the banner said Santa would be coming, only to find out Santa wasn't coming until 6:30 and we had to leave to get to the Nuggets game. It was still such a fun atmosphere and we will definitely be going next year. We also did some black friday shopping that involved J. Crew at 11 p.m., and it was worth it.

We have so much to be thankful for in our lives and Thanksgiving is always a great reminder of that. I am especially thankful for my little family and can't imagine a life without them. After hearing of the events in Connecticut my heart is broken and aches for those family. Those were chosen children and teachers that are wrapped in the arms of their Heavenly Father and I'm pretty sure there isn't a safer place to be. This world can be scary and sometimes I just don't understand why things happen, but I am so grateful that families are forever. I am going to hold mine a little tighter. All my thoughts and prayers are with those families.

Downtown Littleton is one of our most favorite places, especially this time of year.
